We received your payment for your Design Consultation and wanted to let you know what to expect during this process.

We will send you an email reminder a day before your scheduled appointment to confirm. You can also email us at hello@sharaeppertdesign.com if you wish to reschedule your appointment.

Please be reminded that the consultation fee is non-refundable, but it can be used at any time within one year and can be transferred to anyone. If you hire us for design services, we will credit the consultation fee to your invoice.

Our consultation service, which is the launching pad for your project, will consist of a tour of your home giving you valuable advice for your kitchen, bathroom, and home addressing any concerns you may have and listening to your ideas & goals for your home.

You can expect recommendations for improving each area as we walk through. During the tour, we will also be identifying the areas of your home that you want to address first

(The priority areas). We will then sit down to formulate a plan for improving the priority areas. You may also show me any inspiration photos you may have or send me links to your Pinterest boards before our meeting.

The design consultation service is designed to bring expert advice to your door. Get your answers on the spot, plus you get the option to move on to the next tier of our design service. After you approved the design proposal and paid the 50% deposit to get started, we start your design plan. Take a look at our streamlined design process.


1 | Site Measure
We begin with an initial site visit in order to familiarize ourselves with the existing conditions and take measurements. If you are unable to provide drawings of the existing conditions we will produce a complete to-scale floor plan in CAD format.

2 | Create a design vision for your home
We will start the design concept for your project and develop that through sketches, color schemes, floor plans, elevations, and 3D renderings. We will source all materials, fixtures, and furnishings.

3 | Presentation
We will meet with you to go over your entire customized design plan. All drawings, color schemes, mood board(s), renderings, fabric samples, itemized furniture selections as well as the budget breakdown with estimates from our trades will be presented to you. One revision is included and must be requested at this meeting. This is when the Letter of Agreement is signed and the balance of our design fee, plus 100% of the furnishings budget is required.

4 | Placement of orders
During this step, we create all purchase orders, track orders, assess lead times, note any back-orders or discontinued items that may delay the project, and make a decision about whether to re-select. Time from plan approval/ordering to installation: 8 - 14 weeks depending on custom furniture and extent of construction/renovation.

5 | Oversee the project as it comes to life
Depending on the scope of work for your project, Shara Eppert Design provides advice and support to ensure the proposed design outcome meets the expectations of all parties. Once you hire contractors, we provide assistance through the construction process to ensure the outcome is as designed. We schedule regular site appointments, and can additionally visit at your request.

6 | Receiving of orders & Installation
All orders are received at our trade warehouse, inspected for damages and stored in one place for the project for installation day. Claims and reorders are made for any damaged items that arrive on site. We will install on one day, however, some custom items like window treatments or banquettes will be installed prior to the big day.

7 | Client closure meeting
This is when we will meet one last time to present you with your client binder of the project including all furniture selections and applicable warranties, paint selections, fabric, and finish samples for your future reference. We also graciously ask for any feedback, reviews, and discuss any additional projects you would like to move forward with. We coordinate with the vendor, trades person, or subcontractor involved to cure deficiencies within 14 days. Sometimes we need to wait for a new furniture piece to be delivered. We make sure you have a substitution in the meantime until the issue is resolved. This is rare but does happen and we want to make sure of your complete satisfaction with your space.

8 | Photography
We will schedule a day convenient for you in order for our photographer to document the project. We may bring in additional decor for styling of the photos. If you wish to keep any of these items, they will be available for purchase. Pictures will be used on our website and social media. If we intend to have these photos published in a local, national or online publication, we will first discuss with you.
